Keep your real cellphone at home, or at least turned off whenever possible.
In addition to your camera app, your phone tracks a LOT of other things too, and can share that data with your apps, or even with some government agencies under certain circumstances. You should make sure to buy a burner phone if you’re frequently protesting. Turn your cellphone off, or keep it at home, and use the burner whenever out at a protest. Make sure to turn your burner off once you’ve left the area as well. Leaving your burner phone on all the way home will tell anyone who can trace it right where you went.
